GTC-CHORUS is a high-resolution, ultra-stable spectrograph being developed for the GTC telescope in Spain under the framework of China-Spain cooperation. It is expected to have high-precision radial velocity measurement capabilities at the level of 0.1 meters per second, which will make scientific advances in several frontiers of astronomical research - searching for and studying exoplanets. This spectrograph includes two spectral systems for the near-ultraviolet and visible light bands, jointly providing observational capabilities with a spectral resolution of R≥20,000 in the near-ultraviolet band and R≥100,000 in the visible band. In addition to high-precision radial velocity and exoplanet atmosphere measurements, the design of this instrument can also enable other scientific investigations, such as studies of extremely metal-poor stars and measuring the ages of the oldest stars in the Galaxy.
